For Cinder Hills Off Highway Vehicle OHV Area: Road is gravel with lots of dips and ruts so go slow. Lots of places to park. Watch for low lying tree limbs. Can stay up to 14 days. Caution ground is soft volcanic gravel. Could be difficult in areas if real heavy vehicle. Grounds seems a bit more solid around the trees vs open areas. 3 miles south of Sunset volcano NP and near Wupatki National Monument

For Cinder Hills Off Highway Vehicle OHV Area: 9-2016 mile marker 427. Cinder hills sign only on north bound side of 89. Campground 1.3 miles from 89. Lots of level places. Trees block satellite TV. Move around to get signal. Camp fires were used. Will use again. Off roaders unload and go up in the hills to ride. A fairly quiet 5 days. Road to campground is very dusty, go slow.
