For Richard Bong State Recreation Area: I stayed there recently (April 2025), at the time only the Sunrise campground was open — which is absolutely beautiful. The park itself is huge with lots to do. The only negative thing I have to say about the stay was the price. Wisconsin tacks on a $15 fee per night for out of state vehicles, but that alone is not enough to knock a star off my review. It’s a real nice park with a very nice camping experience.

For Richard Bong State Recreation Area: This is a great spot. Here off season but it was very nice. Water was off bathrooms hole in the ground but we have our own great houses hiking it was hunting season when we were here but the hunters were on the other side of the lake

For Richard Bong State Recreation Area: Gorgeous, peaceful setting. Only wish they had full hookups and paying an additional park fee seemed odd.

For Richard Bong State Recreation Area: Bong recreation is a hidden gem, set among trees and a beautiful lake with fantastic trails for hiking or horse back riding... love it
