For Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area: Staff were friendly and helpful; lots of space and opportunities for activities. BEWARE: I left my site briefly and when I got back everything was STOLEN !!! Tent, camp stove, even my favorite relaxing camp chair ! Civilians have ready access to the facility and I suspect a couple who were fishing nearby stole my gear. ( The woman had shoulder length black hair with about ten beaded braids. While not fishing she drove a white pickup off road around the lakefront)

For Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area: The pads to park your RV are old and small. Some are impractical and not engineered very well. The park is huge and has many facilities. A lot of folks come here from Fort Hood about 20 miles away. You can come in from the east. There is no formal gate to come through so there is no hassle but if you go on Main Post there is a formal gate. The check in folks are professional and do a good job. Right now, in late March, only RVers are here but that will change soon.

For Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area: Largest Famcamp I have used. Lots of overflow parking and acres of dry camping area. Friendly, helpful staff. Overflow sites could use some cosmetic TLC but were quite adequate. Numerous rental cabins. About 12 miles off interstate highway.
