For Pine Point Campground: We were looking for a CG in the general area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in late August in our 25 foot MH.
There are 4 similar, small primitive CGs on the south shore of Timothy Lake. Access is via an approximately 10 mile paved road from OR-26. We stayed at Pine Point CG. We arrived late in the day without reservations and filled the last site. The sites are large and mostly level. There're large trees throughout providing a mix of shade with some sun. Some of the sites have a lake view. There are no hookups. Water to fill tanks is available at Hoodview CG a mile away. There's no dump station at any of the 4 CGs. There's no wifi. There was good ATT coverage and no Verizon coverage. The CG host was friendly and helpful.
There are several boat launches along the lake. (Max boat speed is 10 mph.) There are several trails near the CG, including a 13 mile loop around the lake (15 miles for bikes). There's no beach at the CG, however, there's access for swimming.
