For Atlanta West Campgrounds: This is a very old camp place and is not suitable for out of area travelers. It is mostly used by those who are pretty much homeless with old campers or vans. The floods were in 2005 and 2009. I would only advise staying here if it's free and you can't find anything else.....live not far from this place and it's very close to a few trailer parks and a junk yard. You would be better off traveling further west and getting off Highway 5 in Douglasville and parking in the Walmart lot...would be safer and nicer.

For Atlanta West Campgrounds: This is the worst campground we've seen by far. The campground is run down and more than half the spots aren't available because a flood took the power and water out. No clue when the "flood" was but it doesn't appear to be recent. We were assigned a spot with a broken deck and nails sticking up ready to pop a tire. When we tried finding somewhere that our 30 foot rig would fit, the drunken owner of the place proceeded to yell at us. We stayed at the Jim Miller Park instead, 10 minutes up the road.
