For Sand Flat Campground: I discovered this campground by accident and am glad I did! I arrived on a Tuesday and there were plenty of spots open. Site number 21 is right on the river. The campground also goes back over a bridge and there are there other sites available there as well. There are picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, trash cans and water. Apparently there is also a dumpsite here as well although I didn芒鈧劉t use it. I think it is $10. Wood can be bought for $8 a bundle. If you芒鈧劉re up for hiking there is a service road at the end of the campground that goes on for miles. There are also two wading spots, or beaches, to swim at if so inclined. There is also a camp host and hostess who were very friendly and informative. There is highway noise but if you芒鈧劉re close to the river it drowns it out. I am a female solo traveler and felt completely safe here.

For Sand Flat Campground: Might be 4-star in summer bc swimming proximity to river. Pretty and small but right off hwy 50 so some Hywy noise. Site 25 is private trailer /Rv site above creek and 29 nice private tent site (in cluster in side of hill by creek). There's one large site right in the creek too. Lowest elevation USFS campground in region so good if its chilly.
