For Anderson Riverside Park City Campground: Mosquitos in late June. WOW! Better to wait until later in the season. Other than that this would be a 4 star stay.

For Anderson Riverside Park City Campground: The Anderson park is one of the great little secrets of camping in Alaska. You can basically be away from people if you want by going 芒鈧渞ight芒鈧劉 when you enter or straight across the dike to the river side of the park. Or you can plug in to one of about 16 RV spots that have a 30amp and a standard 15 amp outlet. Or a number of non-plugin spots along the park road which, as noted, are huge. No water at your spots however but there is a hose at the washroom. The plugin spots are parking lot style so no real privacy but I芒鈧劉ve stayed there, once or twice nearly every year for the last 20, and I芒鈧劉ve never seen it even near full so you can pretty much always get two spots to your self. Decent standard bathroom building with pay showers and an open, but covered, pavilion with a fireplace and tables. As of 2019, plug in spots are $25 per night and non plugin are $20. Dump station is an extra $10. The park does not have it芒鈧劉s own WiFi. Although a fairly weak signal, I was able to get AT&T LTE, sometimes dropping to 4G but pretty reliable, for Alaska... Only two downsides to the park that take away the fifth star. One is actually a benefit if that芒鈧劉s your thing, at the very end of the park there is a public shooting range. Which is pretty decent although uncontrolled. So a benefit if you芒鈧劉re into shooting, but a downside to hear occasionally while camping. (But it is probably close to a mile from the plugin spots, so not like next to you or anything.) Although, again, after staying there dozens of times I have never heard shooting late at night or early morning. The range is mainly used by locals, troopers and probably military from the nearby Air Force radar station. So I芒鈧劉ve never felt it was a hazard in anyway. The other issue is that there is no store in the campground, or in the town for that matter. There is a bar in town, so you can get alcohol, but they are rarely open. A note on the door just says call if you need something and someone drives over and opens it for you. They were really nice about it and do have some soda and snacks you can buy as well. But for provisions you芒鈧劉ll want to stock up at Healy or Nenana depending on which direction you芒鈧劉re coming from. It芒鈧劉s also a good camping place if you have kids. There is a small playground on site and a huge field to fly kites (it芒鈧劉s frequently a little windy). Or you can walk into town and go to the combined elementary / middle school which has a couple really good playground areas. Also, (usually and most every year) the last week of July is a family music festival at the park. So no plugin spots will be available but good music, food vendors and the like are always great. They used to have the festival every year, then a few years they didn芒鈧劉t, and now it芒鈧劉s been on I believe 2 of the last 3 years so you never really know if it芒鈧劉ll be on or not. Also, If you芒鈧劉re wanting a campfire, when permitted by weather conditions, you don芒鈧劉t need to bring wood. There is plenty of deadfall you can collect on the 芒鈧渞iver side芒鈧劉 of the dike that runs through the middle of the park. I consider Anderson Park an Alaskans campground. Off the beaten path but quaint with a solid set of basic requirements. So a good 4 star in my book.

For Anderson Riverside Park City Campground: Great City Park! The electric sites were a gravel parking lot. We opted to dry camp and several sites were secluded and large; some 50-75' deep. They did have a dump and water there as well. We paid $20/night. BTW, when we arrived in the morning 6/6 we were attached by mosquitos. We must have woken them up. We had no real issues after that.

For Anderson Riverside Park City Campground: Nice town campground. Level sites. Good place to spend a night. Some dry camping for a few dollars less too.
